Principal’s Welcome

Welcome to Kidman Park Primary School. Our school has been serving the local community since 1967. Today, our school has an enrolment of around 460 students, including our disability unit, which provides a specialised learning environment for students including a strong conductive education program. We have beautiful, spacious grounds, providing plenty of play options for our students.

Our vision is to provide an inclusive, engaging and challenging school that support learners to aspire to take risks, embrace change and to achieve their full potential. We aim to foster curiosity and creativity, and develop knowledge and skills for the future, enabling our learners to be empowered, resilient and informed global citizens. We are well known for offering a variety of rich and diverse programs, with a focus on the development of the whole child through using a student driven, inquiry-based pedagogy (Foundation to Year 2 Investigation, Years 3-6 Education Research Projects). Our teachers are also highly skilled at providing explicit direct instruction for the development of foundational literacy and numeracy skills.

Student wellbeing is at the heart of our work. Our approach enhances academic success by creating a positive school climate where students can engage in learning, concentrate better, and achieve their full potential.

At Kidman Park Primary School, our wellbeing approach is based on the Berry Street Education Model and Restorative Practices. Both frameworks aim to support mental and emotional health, helping students manage stress, develop resilience, and maintain positive mental health.

We offer a wide range of extra curricula activities including SAPSASA, Strings Program, piano and guitar lessons (fees apply), Chess Club, Tournament of the Minds, Adelaide Film Festival, ASX Challenge, and a large number of after school sporting teams. These diverse opportunities enable students to develop specific skills, explore new passions, work as a team and experience success.

We value partnership with our families we welcome your participation. Education is a shared responsibility which is most effective when families and educators work together. Parents are welcome to volunteer throughout the school by participating in excursions and sports coaching, volunteering in the canteen and library, or joining the Parent and Friends or Governing Council and associated sub committees. We have many whole school events which families love to attend including our huge end of year Event, Grandparents/friends Day, Kidmanathon and Annual Quiz Night.
