Student Action Teams – which one will you join?

 

Student Action Teams engage students in community-based learning and fostering connections with their surroundings. These teams adopt a student-centered approach, actively involving students in achieving specific goals and targets set by the school. Student Action Teams are crucial in cultivating unified teams connecting students with their local communities. Central to Student Action Teams is the fundamental principle of fostering positive self-perceptions among students, promoting a sense of purpose, empowerment, autonomy, and belonging. Each year, Student Action Teams vary depending on school priorities and educator expertise.

Helper License Group

This action team become trained helpers to support students in the Learning Centre.

Wellbeing Action Team

The priorities of this student action team are to:

  • Help to create a positive and joyful school for all
  • Run anti-bullying programs for students

The Event Action Team

The priorities of this student action team are to:

  • Come up with the ideas for our end of year event
  • Write the scripts and help design the sets
  • Assist with costume design

Hub Action Team

The priorities of this student action team are to:

  • Create, a fun joyful hub for our school
  • Run lunchtime activities
  • Keep the books in order
  • Decide what resources we need to buy

Sport Action Team

The priorities of this student action team are to:

  • Look after our school and class sporting equipment
  • Run lunchtime sporting and coaching activities for students
  • Lead Sports Day teams

Multimedia Action Team

The priorities of this student action team are to:

  • Set up multimedia equipment for school events
  • Create multimedia displays and records of school events
  • Run training for staff and students about ICTs to design and run different technology clinic groups for students and staff to promote classroom sustainability

Sport Action Team

The priorities of this student action team are to:

  • Look after our school and class sporting equipment
  • Run lunchtime sporting and coaching activities for students
  • Lead Sports Day teams

STEM Mentors Action Team

The priorities of this student action team are to:

  • Explore different coding and robotics options for students
  • Design and run coding/robotics workshops as a part of The Hubs’ lunchtime activities
  • Run classroom clinic groups on the coding options to upskill other students

SDG – Sustainability Action Team

The priorities of this student action team are to:

  • Educate our community about sustainability and the SDGs
  • Work towards KPPS being a sustainable environment in collaboration with parents

The Studio Action Team

The priorities of this student action team are to:

  • Use VR headsets and camera systems for filming
  • Run lunchtime sessions in The Studio
  • Use editing software to create digital footage
